I sat in front of my TV Sunday night watching what I feel was one of the worst images I could see on a television screen: The San Francisco Giants celebrating a World Series Championship.
It’s the second time in three seasons that I’ve seen those guys celebrate winning a World Series Championship. Being a hardcore Dodger fan and closely related to Giants fans, it’s never a fun time seeing that team on top of the world.
This year was especially tough. With the Dodgers’ atrocious collapse and the Giants nearly on the brink of elimination twice, it hurt watching them win.
But in the end, no one can take away what the Giants accomplished and what they achieved through adversity. After losing their potential MVP to a suspension, the Giants refused to give up and marched onwards to take the NL West over a Dodgers squad that failed to win with their monumental trades.
San Francisco had put together the pieces that have, and will allow them to constantly challenge for the NL West title and even the World Series title.
The Giants are champions. That’s tough to say. But it is what it is, and it’s what Dodger fans are going to have to live with for the next four months.
