Tempe Police reported the following incidents Wednesday:
- A 28-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Sept. 26 at Broadway Road and Country Club Way on suspicion of marijuana possession, according to a police report.Officers stopped the man’s vehicle, and when they approached him, they could smell marijuana, police reported.The man said someone had smoked marijuana inside the vehicle earlier, according to the report.
Officers searched the vehicle and found a usable quantity of marijuana in a bag inside a vitamin bottle under the driver seat, police reported.
The man said the marijuana was his, according to the report. He said he had stopped using it for four years but had recently started again and wanted help to stop, police reported.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released pending charges, according to the report.
- A 22-year-old Tempe man was arrested Sept. 25 on the 1200 block of West Broadway Road on suspicion of driving on a suspended license and marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.Police stopped the vehicle and when the man told officers his name, they found his license was suspended, police reported.Before police searched the vehicle, the man said he had marijuana in his right front pocket, police reported.
Officers found a bag there with green leafy substance identified as marijuana, according to the report.
Police found a small glass pipe containing burnt residue inside the vehicle, police reported.
The man said he knew he was driving with a suspended license and he did not have a medical marijuana card, according to the report.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.
