We’re nearly a week away from the start of arguably the most anticipated NBA season of all time.
The top three teams — the Los Angeles Lakers, the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Miami Heat — have questions to answer before April rolls around.
Can the Heat repeat? The NBA champions reloaded with shooters like Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. It’s scary to think LeBron James has actual shooters to dish out to when he drives in the lane.
While the Heat is still undersized inside, it might not matter. James looked good at center in the Olympics. Coach Erik Spoelstra can shift him or James at the five spot at times and give the Heat an offensive edge at the position.
How exactly will Dwight Howard and Steve Nash play with Kobe Bryant? Howard looked impressive in his return from a back injury. If he’s healthy, it’s hard to think the Lakers won’t represent the West in the NBA Finals, sadly.
Is this the Thunder’s last run with James Harden? This question will be brought up throughout the season. The Thunder has enough to make another run at the title, but Harden will need to elevate his game to an All-Star level this season, not only for his team, but also for his pockets.
No matter who wins, buckle up. It's surely going to be a thrilling ride.
