The Arizona State Fair, which began Oct. 12, will close Nov 4. The fair, at 19th Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix, features a variety of rides, contests, concerts, a petting zoo and exhibits. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and children 13 or younger. The annual event began as the Arizona Territorial Fair in 1884, 28 years before Arizona achieved statehood, and has run nearly every year since then.
