State Press Conversations: Superhydrophobic Knife

Sydney Schuman and Charlotte Das talk with ASU researchers who developed a superhydrophobic knife that can split a water droplet cleanly in half. This has a direct application in biotechnology and diagnostics as part of a larger effort in microfluidics and nanofluidics. It also adds to the new idea of “DIY molecular bioengineering and biology”, as well as possibly allowing the bioanalysis of smaller amounts of materials.
