Senior wing Carrick Felix was announced Pac-12 Player of the Week Monday.

He guided ASU through two conference wins this week, making it the fourth time the school has started conference play 2-0. Felix had 17 points and 13 rebounds in the 55-54 overtime victory over Utah. He also scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds in ASU’s win over Colorado Sunday. It was his fourth 20-point game this season, giving him nine in his career.

“I don’t know if I’ve coached a guy who has played with more heart,” coach Herb Sendek said of Felix after ASU’s win over Colorado on Sunday. “The guy doesn’t take one second off, and his effort and his energy and his heart have been remarkable.”

Felix is averaging career-highs across the board this season while playing the same amount of minutes as he did last year. He averages 15.1 points and 7.9 rebounds a game. He’s shooting 55.3 percent from the floor, eighth best in the conference, and is hitting 39.2 percent of his three pointers.

“He’s a huge guy for us on energy,” junior center Jordan Bachynski said after the team’s win over Colorado. “He doesn’t take enough credit for the energy he brings not only in games but in practices. The guy is always on and the reason we have energy.”

Felix is the only player to receive the award twice this season. It’s also the 32nd all-time selection for the Sun Devils.
