The No. 8 ASU baseball team picked up where they left off Friday night, scoring three runs in the first inning en route to a 5-1 win over Utah Saturday afternoon.

It took the Sun Devils (27-12-1, 10-7 Pac-12) only two batters to score as junior outfielder Kasey Coffman and junior third baseman Benjamin hit back-to-back doubles.

Senior catcher Max Rossiter scored Benjamin two batters later with a double of his own then redshirt sophomore outfielder Trever Allen brought home Rossiter with a two-out single.

The three runs were all freshman starter Ryan Kellogg needed as he improved to 10-0 on the season.

Kellogg pitched eight innings and allowed only one run, an RBI single by junior catcher Konner Armijo in the second, while striking out four.

Junior second baseman James McDonald added a solo homerun in the eighth for his fourth of the season. Coffman provided an RBI single in the ninth for the fifth Sun Devil run.

With the win, the Sun Devils clinched their fourth straight Pac-12 series.

The Sun Devils will go for the sweep tomorrow afternoon at 12 p.m.
