Bravo to the hilarity of the leaked email from a Delta Gamma sorority girl that went viral last week. Rebecca Martinson, chair of the University of Maryland Delta Gamma chapter, wrote a harsh and profanity-riddled rant about her fellow sorority sisters and their perceived failure to represent the institution in a positive, outgoing light. The best part of the whole debacle are the "dramatic readings" that have popped up all over the Internet, including one by Michael Shannon.

Boo to extreme and studied ignorance that sprung from the investigation into the Boston Marathon bombing. Many people mixed up the Czech Republic, the Eastern European country located near Germany and Poland, with Chechnya, a federal subject of the Russian Federation located in the Caucasus region. A further boo is in order to Reddit and the rest of the online community who incorrectly identified Brown University student Sunil Tripathi as the Boston bombing suspect. Tripathi has been missing since March 16.

Bravo to a Chinese TV reporter who immediately left to go report on the earthquake that struck the Sichuan province on April 22 after the tragedy interrupted her wedding. More than 150 people were killed and 11,000 more were injured.

Boo to Jeff Flake for flaking out on his implied support of last week's bill in the U.S. Senate to strengthen background checks for firearm purchases, among other provisions. The legislation died 54-46 after a Democratic-majority senate failed to defeat a filibuster with 60 votes.

Bravo to the FBI's "lucky" week, during which they apprehended the second suspect in the Boston bombings after a fierce manhunt and assisted Canadian authorities in investigating an alleged al-Qaida terror plot to attack passenger trains in Toronto.

Boo to tragic explosion of a fertilizer plant in West, Texas on April 17, which left 14 people dead. The plant had been storing 270 tons of (highly explosive) ammonium nitrate, more than 1,000 times the amount "that would normally trigger safety oversight by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security," according to Reuters. Authorities are still investigating the scene to eliminate the possibility of criminal involvement in the blast. Bravo to bone marrow donors. New Hampshire senior shot put thrower Cameron Lyle is ending his athletic career to donate bone marrow to a 28-year-old man suffering from leukemia. Because time is a factor, Lyle ended his college career early to donate.

Boo to the prospect of 90-degree weather and above for the next four (or six) months. Most of April was filled with beautiful, slightly breezy days. Just as the heat is on for final exams and last-minute group projects, the hellish summer months are upon us.

Boo-ravo to the new Sparky voting, which opened Monday and will close on May 5. After those awkward couple of weeks in March when the University unveiled Disney's truly awkward take on the iconic mascot, it's fantastic that students have a say. However, each of the four choices still look more like Disney's creepy Buzz Lightyear design than our trusty Sparky.
