The Missouri Tigers might be sad that their undefeated season has been shattered, but they might not be crying for long.
The fact is that, despite their hopes of an undefeated season being out the window, there’s still a chance for the Tigers make the SEC title game.
Missouri is currently 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the SEC, just ahead of South Carolina (6-2, 4-2) in the SEC East. But there is even better news: The Tigers have a very favorable schedule the rest of the way.
The Tigers have conference games the rest of the way and their next three opponents, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ole Miss, are a combined 3-10 in SEC play.
Assuming Missouri wins those games, which it easily could, it would be 10-1 and 6-1 in the conference heading into a pivotal season-ending matchup with Texas A&M.
On top of that, it’s looking more likely that senior quarterback James Franklin could return sooner than expected, making the Tigers even more dangerous.
South Carolina still has SEC games with Florida and Mississippi State remaining, and a slip up in either one of those games would, barring an utter collapse from the Tigers, send Missouri to the SEC championship game.
