Devil Dish: Seattle's football success covering up recent disappointments

It's a good time to be a football fan in Seattle.

Not often have those words been uttered, but there's not a more fitting time than now to use them.

The Seahawks are 4-0 for the first time in franchise history, and they pulled off a nice comeback in Houston Sunday to get there.

The Huskies are 4-0 for the first time since 2001 and have posted impressive wins over Boise State, Illinois and Arizona.

The teams aren't just getting lucky, either.

Both look like contenders, something Seattle desperately needs after a rough start to 2013.

The Mariners continue to lounge in mediocrity and just cut ties with manager Eric Wedge, and the Kings are no longer coming to the pacific northwest.

Nothing will quell that disappointment quite like winning, especially at the highest levels of football.

Heck, even Seattle's soccer (football) team, the Sounders, are at the top of their conference.

Like I said, it's a good time to be a Seattle football fan.
