Another week of Pac-12 football is in the books. Here's a look at how the conference fared this weekend.
No. 3 Oregon vs. No. 12 UCLA: Oregon W 42-14
The Bruins managed to keep it close for a half, but the Ducks proved to have more in the tank. The Ducks and Bruins went into the half tied at 14, but Oregon pulled away in the second half, scoring 28 unanswered points and stifling UCLA’s offense. Sophomore running back Byron Marshall did the majority of the Ducks’ scoring, finding the end zone three times while racking up 133 rushing yards on 19 carries.No. 6 Stanford vs. No. 25 Oregon State: Stanford W 20-12
Stanford senior running back Tyler Gaffney was the workhorse that drove the Cardinal to victory Saturday night. Gaffney carried the ball 22 times for 145 yards, and all three of Stanford’s touchdowns as the Cardinal downed the Beavers. The Stanford defense did a good job of containing the nation’s leading passer, OSU junior quarterback Sean Mannion. The Cardinal limited Mannion to 271 yards and a touchdown on a whopping 57 pass attempts.Washington vs. Cal: Washington W 41-17
The Huskies bounced back nicely after suffering a blowout loss to ASU the weekend prior, but did so with a heavy heart. Washington paid tribute to legendary Huskies head coach Don James, who died last Sunday at the age of 80 due to pancreatic cancer. The Huskies honored James by blowing away Cal. Huskies’ junior running back Bishop Sankey ran for a career-high 241 yards and two touchdowns, while redshirt senior quarterback Keith Price passed for 376 yards and another two scores. Washington scored most of its touchdowns on big plays, including touchdown passes by Price from 47 and 68 yards out, and a 59 yards run from Sankey. However, the Golden Bears weren’t without big plays of their own. Cal freshman running back Khalfani Muhammad scored one of Cal’s two touchdowns on a 73-yard run.USC vs. Utah: USC W 19-3
USC managed to overcome its injury woes and shut down the Utes, holding Utah to just 201 yards of offense. The Utes couldn’t get anything going against the Trojans' defense, passing for only 130 yards and rushing for only a measly 71 yards. Junior kicker Andre Heidari was USC’s most potent offensive weapon, bouncing back from a bad performance against Notre Dame last week and knocking through four field goals with a long of 40 yards.Arizona vs. Colorado: Arizona W 44-20
The Wildcats' rushing attack was on point in Boulder, Colo. UA junior running back Ka’Deem Carey, the nation’s leading rusher, had 119 yards and four touchdowns, but was not actually the team’s leading rusher. The Wildcats’ senior quarterback B.J. Denker led the team in rushing with 192 yards on 15 carries.UA romped all over the Buffaloes’ defense, piling up 670 total yards including a total of 405 yards on the ground.
