The ASU football team didn't let up after building a 28-point halftime advantage, defeating Washington State 55-21 to earn their first road victory of the season.

The Cougars (4-5, 2-4 Pac-12) came out swinging early in the second half, though, scoring the first touchdown of the half after an ASU punt.

Redshirt junior quarterback Connor Halliday drove the Cougars down the field then sophomore running back Jeremiah Laufasa punched it in from four yards out to make it 42-21.

The Sun Devils (6-2, 4-1) were initially stopped on their next drive, but redshirt junior linebacker Carl Bradford took a fake punt 20 yards to keep the drive alive.

Redshirt junior quarterback Taylor Kelly made the Cougars pay two plays later, hooking up with sophomore running back D.J. Foster on a 23-yard touchdown pass, their second connection of the game, to stretch the lead to 49-21.

The Cougars went three-and-out on their next drive then were burned once more by the fake punt.

Senior punter Alex Garoutte ran for 19 yards on fourth down to set up a 37-yard field goal by freshman placekicker Zane Gonzalez, his 12th straight make, to push the Sun Devils lead to 52-21.

Kelly and Halliday traded off interceptions and it was the Sun Devils that again capitalized.

Gonzalez nailed his 13th straight field goal and second of the night, this one from 36 yards out, to extend the Sun Devils lead to the final score of 55-21.
