It's rivalry week in the Pac-12. Here's a look at how each team fared against its bitter enemy.
No. 8 Stanford vs. Notre Dame: Stanford W 27-20
The Cardinal finally exorcised their demons from a year ago. Last season, the Cardinal fell 20-13 in overtime to the Fighting Irish. This season, Stanford was determined to come out of the game with a different outcome. Once again it was senior running back Tyler Gaffney who was the workhorse for the Cardinal and had a career night, rushing for 189 yards and one touchdown on 33 carries. Junior quarterback Kevin Hogan did his part, throwing for 158 yards and a touchdown, though he also tossed two interceptions.
No. 13 Oregon vs. Oregon State: Oregon W 36-35
As usual, the Civil War was close and hard fought. In the end, the Ducks were able to rebound after a disappointing loss to Arizona a week prior. It would come down to the final 29 seconds when senior wide receiver Josh Huff caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from redshirt sophomore quarterback Marcus Mariota to give the Ducks the lead. The connection between Huff and Mariota was on all night. Mariota threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns. Huff caught all three touchdowns and had 186 yards on nine receptions.
No. 22 UCLA vs. No. 23 USC: UCLA W 35-14
For the first time since 1997, the Bruins managed to beat the Trojans in the Coliseum. Redshirt sophomore quarterback Brett Hundley did it all, leading the Bruins in passing, with 208 yards, and rushing, with 80 yards and two touchdowns. Redshirt sophomore Javorius Allen had a solid showing for the Trojans, rushing for 123 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.
Washington vs. Washington State: Washington W 27-17
Washington junior running back Bishop Sankey would not be stopped and, with 200 yards and a touchdown on the day, he set the single-season rushing record with 1,775 yards this season. Redshirt junior quarterback Keith Price rushed 14 times for only 23 yards but had a touchdown. Price also passed for 181 yards and a touchdown with one interception. The win gave the Huskies their first winning season since 2001.
Utah vs. Colorado: Utah W 24-17
Utah, still missing regular starting sophomore quarterback Travis Wilson, relied on sophomore quarterback Adam Schulz to get them past the Buffaloes. Schulz wouldn’t disappoint. Schulz was 19-for-33 for 233 yards, a touchdown and an interception. The real workhorse for the Utes, however, was senior quarterback Kelvin York. York carried the ball 31 times for 132 yards and two touchdowns. The Buffaloes put their hopes on freshman quarterback Sefo Liufau who went 23-for-46 with 241 yards, two touchdowns and a pick. In the end, it wasn’t enough to get Colorado past the Utes, though.
