Tempe Police: Woman trespasses in house looking for restroom

The woman entered through an unlocked back door after the home's resident locked her out.

Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:

A 32-year-old Phoenix man was arrested June 18 at East La Jolla Drive and South College Avenue on suspicion of driving on a suspended license, dangerous drug and drug paraphernalia possession and residential burglary, according to a police report.

The man and a woman who was with him had fled a house on the 300 block of East Laguna Drive on a motorcycle, according to the report. They were then spotted walking into the Walmart on the 800 block of East Southern Avenue, police reported.

Officers stopped the man and discovered a large amount of black tar heroin, as well as methamphetamine and a piece of foil and straw used for smoking them, police reported.

The man also had a small multi tool in his front pocket, according to the report.

He was transported to the Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.


A 38-year-old Sutherlin, Oregon, woman was arrested June 17 at West Baseline Road and South Hardy Drive on suspicion of aggravated DUI, according to a police report.

The woman was traveling south on Hardy Drive in a maroon sedan when she crossed lanes, police reported.

She crashed into the driver's side of a blue sedan that was waiting to turn left, according to the report.

Officers noticed the odor of alcohol on the woman's breath as she answered questions, police reported.

She also had watery eyes and couldn't stand up while keeping her balance, the report said.

A test showed that the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles has suspended her license, police reported.

She was transported to the Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.


A 26-year-old Mesa woman was arrested June 14 on the 1300 block of West 4th Street on suspicion of trespassing, according to a police report.

Officers received a call about a woman lying in a front yard with no pants on, police reported.

When officers arrived, she was clothed but had grass covering her shirt, according to the report.

The house's resident saw her while going out to smoke a cigarette in her carport, police reported. The resident sad she saw the woman get up and begin pushing on her door, trying to open it, the report said.

The woman then entered the resident's apartment through an unlocked back door and then asked to use the restroom, police reported.

The resident began yelling at the woman to leave, at which point officers arrived, police reported.

The woman was transported to Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.
