(Photo by Andrew Ybanez)As the dust clears from the brutal NFL fantasy football draft season, one final decision needs to be made: where to watch the games? If you don’t happen to own a 60-inch television for NFL Sunday but want to keep up with the games, here are a few places to ensure your fantasy football team is ahead of the competition while enjoying some food or a cold one.
Downtown Phoenix
Downtown students have plenty of options to watch the game steps away from their campus, but here are a few winners.
Opening at 10 a.m. on Sundays for football, Majerle’s Sports Grill serves breakfast and $5 Bloody Marys to fans eager to watch some football. The 22-year-old downtown staple's concept is “friendly employees, quality food, tasty drinks and fun times.” The bar, located at 24 N. 2nd St., is a step away from major venues such as the US Airways Center and Chase Field.
Ranked the No. 1 sports bar in the Phoenix Metro area by USA Today, Coach’s Corner Grill has a lot to offer fans gathered to watch football, including free parking during the games. Coach’s Corner grill cooks a specific “football breakfast menu” from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and offers two game time food specials that last during the entirety of the game.
The sports bar runs beer specials on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays, adding a bottomless mimosa special on Sundays in three different flavors. Located at 333 E. Jefferson St., Coach’s Corner Grill is close to the Downtown campus and is conveniently located off the light rail by Chase Field and US Airways Center.
With a large number of televisions for game viewing and drink and food specials, this Irish pub has a lot to offer sports fans. Located at 705 N. 1st St., steps away from the Downtown campus, The Turf serves a weekend brunch menu from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Tempe
Tempe students have a wide range of options to choose from when searching for the perfect game stop. Mill Avenue’s walkability combined with its wide selection of bars makes Mill a great spot for football fans — but there are options off the beaten path as well.
Located at 955 E. University Drive, this ASU favorite draws in football fans with drink specials and a large number of sports television offerings. On Sundays, Devil’s Advocate serves up $3 mimosas and $4 Bloody Marys from 11 a.m. till 5 p.m. to wash down $5 chicken wings.
Arguably one of the best parts of football watching is the beer, and World of Beers offers enough varieties of brew to keep fans busy for the entire season. With about 600 different beers from which to choose, both beer and football enthusiasts can enjoy Sunday afternoons at this Mill Avenue bar. Open from 11 a.m. till 2 a.m. at 526 Mill Ave., World of Beer is conveniently located near the light rail and Tempe campus.
With many locations through out the valley, the 690 South Mill Ave. location is near the Tempe campus and has a few specials to delight football fans looking for a place to watch the game. Opening at 9 a.m. on Sundays for football, Zipps serves a number of $8 special Football Sunday Breakfast options from 9 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. They also have a number of drink specials, including $4 “cereal shots,” $4.50 Bloody Marys or screwdrivers and $5 mimosas.

This nearby local sports bar and grill is a good place for West campus sun devils to relax with a beer and watch the game. Charlie’s Place Bar and Grill opens at 9 a.m. on Sundays, giving fans a chance to grab a seat with a view.
Football, beer and chicken wings are a perfect combination, and Buffalo Wild Wings has enough varieties of each to keep fans happy, while watching the game from any of the more than 30 flat-screen televisions. Located near the Metrocenter Mall at 2700 West North Lane, Buffalo Wild Wings is a 10-minute drive from the West campus.
Mesa
Offering 49-cent wings on Sundays, Native New Yorker at 4972 South Power Road boasts to be “your football headquarters,” on its website. Polytechnic campus students can chow down on some wings while watching the game.
With a good number of beers on tap and plenty of televisions to watch the game, Old Chicago offers football fans pizza and other food options with plenty of beer varieties to choose from and a daily happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Located near Superstition Springs Mall at 6821 East Superstition Springs, Old Chicago is a great option for Polytechnic campus students.
