The Sun Devils (4-1, 2-1 Pac-12) won't play No. 6 Notre Dame until Nov. 8 in Tempe, but fresh off the momentum of a stunning upset of USC in Los Angeles Saturday night, the team announced via Twitter that it plans to debut the new color scheme against the Irish.
It was revealed to The State Press in August that ASU would be introducing a new alternate uniform to its collection, and its 10th different helmet to date.
In last season's matchup with Notre Dame at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, then-No. 22 ASU fell 37-34 to the unranked Irish.
Prior to that game, the Sun Devils also debuted a new "flame" themed helmet, black with yellow paint, to match its otherwise all-black look.
Additionally, for the Utah game Nov. 1, fans will have the opportunity to vote on azcentral.com to choose the ASU uniform combination, from now until Oct. 19.
