ASU football to wear black helmet, pants against USC

After a 62-27 debacle against UCLA that was the team's first black out game of the season, the ASU football team will don black helmets and pants for this weekend's game against USC.

In addition to the black, the Sun Devils will wear a white jersey with black numbers and accents.

This will be the first time this uniform combination is used this season and the third time the white jerseys have been worn.

Since black helmets were added to the uniform rotation in 2011, the team has gone 5-5 in games in which the Sun Devils wear black helmets.

In last season's game against USC, the Sun Devils wore all maroon in a "Maroon Monsoon" game. ASU won 62-41 in Lane Kiffin's last game as head coach of the Trojans.

ASU last visited the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in 2012 and wore all-white in that game.
