After back-to-back record attendance days at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, fan turnout slipped on Friday, likely because of rainy conditions.

At Wednesday’s pro-am, a record 75,380 fans attended (21 percent increase from 2014) to see celebrities such as Tim Tebow, Bruce Arians, Randy Johnson and Emmitt Smith compete alongside professionals like Tiger Woods.

During Thursday’s opening round, attendance totaled 118,461, a 34 percent increase from 2014. But on Friday attendance slipped to 81,309, a 34 percent decrease from 2014’s record.

Typically Friday is the second-most popular day at the Phoenix Open, with Saturday being the most popular and Sunday being the least (Sunday's final round is almost always on Super Bowl Sunday).

But with rainy conditions all day on Friday, some fans may have opted not to attend.
