Tempe Police reported the following incidents Tuesday:
- A 23-year-old Apache Junction man was arrested on Jan. 10 on the 600 block of West Elliott Road on suspicion of two counts of burglary and having two outstanding warrants, according to a police report.
The man climbed over a 12-foot wall topped with barbed wire to gain access to a vending machine storage lot, police reported.
The man then broke into a vending machine and stole $23.45 in change before trying to escape the lot, according to the report.
The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.
- A 28-year-old Austin, Texas, man was arrested Jan. 11 on South Kyrene Road and West Colgate Drive on suspicion of narcotics drug possession and driving under the influence, according to a police report.
Officers originally contacted the man for driving at night without his headlights on and swerving across several lanes of traffic, police reported.
When officers began talking to the man, they noticed his eyes were bloodshot and he was slurring his words, according to the report.
The man told officers he had consumed several beers earlier in the evening, police reported.
The man refused to take a breathalyzer test and was then transported to Tempe City Jail to receive a blood test, according to the report.
During a search of the man’s possessions, officers found a bag of hash in his pocket, police reported.
The man was booked and held to see a judge, according to the report.
