A fire alarm in the Music East Building on Tuesday disrupted classes and restricted traffic on Gammage Parkway. Several hours later, the building and surrounding area was reopened for normal traffic, according to ASU Alerts.
ASU spokesman Jerry Gonzalez said steam leaking off a pipe triggered the fire alarm, and the building was evacuated until the pipe could be secured.
Many students who were in the area at the time shared images of the firefighters in the area and commented on the situation.
