Report: ASU men's basketball lands Obinna Oleka

The Sun Devils add front court depth with commitment

In the second commitment of Friday, former Texas Longhorn commit Obinna Oleka has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the ASU men's basketball team next season, according to media reports.

Devil's Digest was the first to report the commitment:

Oleka was on an official visit in Tempe Friday when he signed on with the Sun Devils.

Oleka will join former Buffalo guard Shannon Evans, who announced he will transfer to ASU Friday.

Oleka, who most recently played for State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota two seasons ago, where he averaged 25.6 points and 13.6 rebounds per game in five games. 

Oleka is the second commitment to ASU under new coach Bobby Hurley.

The 6-foot-8, 240 pound power forward will have two years of eligibility remaining and is available to play immediately for the Sun Devils.
