ASU football's Todd Graham not worried, just working in final weeks of fall camp

The countdown continues for ASU's season opener vs. Texas A&M, but there's little worrying their head coach

Fourteen days. That's two weeks and just how long it is until ASU football opens their season against Texas A&M in Houston on Sept. 5.

The Sun Devils have had several moving parts since their fall camp opened on Aug. 5, but before their season-opening tilt several questions remain.

Head coach Todd Graham, however, isn't one to be preoccupied with that.

"I don't spend a lot of time worrying," Graham said. "Just work everyday to get better."

The questions about ASU's football must still be answered, and Graham said there are still some holes to fill in the remaining two weeks before the season begins.

"If you  ask me what is the position that I'm concerned about, offensively it's backup quarterback and right tackle," Graham said. "We need to get (redshirt junior wide receiver) Tim White healthy, because he was really, really doing well for us. You need to get the guys healthy on offense.

"On the defensive side of the ball, it's obviously just playing a freshman at technique (in JoJo Wicker), but you're playing one heck of a freshman."

The depth along the offensive line has been a surprise for much of the fall, but Graham said he's still looking for security in having redshirt senior Billy McGehee at the right tackle position.

"Billy has been solid (during fall camp)," Graham said. "That's the only position that I'm concerned about a little bit. Every time you've got new guys playing, you've got to wait and see how it happens, but I have confidence we're going to be in good shape."

- Graham also said redshirt junior linebacker Laiu Moeakiola is still banged up with nagging injuries, and would not play if the season began today.

- Redshirt junior wide receiver Tim White remains in a green non-contact jersey with a heavily wrapped left wrist. However, Graham said he doesn't believe that anyone who is currently listed as out (outside of freshman Dillon Faamatau, junior Cam Smith and redshirt freshman Jalen Harvey) who should not be ready to go by Sept. 5.

- ASU football had some special guests Saturday in their annual mixer with the spirit squad and the marching band following practice. Popsicles were served.
