ASU men's hoops announces non-conference game against Stephen F. Austin

The Sun Devils will play the Lumberjacks, who made the NCAA Tournament in each of the last two seasons, on Dec. 22

New ASU men's basketball coach Bobby Hurley's inaugural schedule is complete.

Sun Devil men's basketball announced their final non-conference opponent Monday, confirming that they will play Stephen F. Austin University on Dec. 22.

ASU originally was scheduled to face St. John's in Las Vegas on that date, but St. John's backed out of the agreement.

Hurley's first non-conference slate now goes as follows:

Nov. 13 — vs. Sacramento State

Nov. 16 — Legend's Classic vs. Belmont

Nov. 18 — Legend's Classic vs. Kennesaw State

Nov. 23 — Legend's Classic vs. NC State (Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.)

Nov. 24 — Legend's Classic vs. LSU/Marquette (Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.)

Nov. 29 — vs. UC Santa Barbara

Dec. 2 — @ Creighton

Dec. 5 — vs. Texas A&M

Dec. 12 — @ Kentucky

Dec. 16 — @ UNLV

Dec. 19 — vs. Houston Baptist

Dec. 22 — vs. Stephen F. Austin

Dec. 28 — vs. CSU Bakersfield

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks went 29-5 (17-1 in Southland Conference) last season, earning a No. 12 seed in the 2014 NCAA Tournament before being eliminated by fifth-seeded Utah 57-50.
