ASU sights and sounds: Cactus Bowl media day

Cactus Bowl media day was held at the Camelback Inn on Thursday morning. Head coach Todd Graham gave an introductory statement thanking the Cactus Bowl staff and expressing excitement to play in the game.

Senior running back D.J. Foster

Foster talked about the how the running game may be split up.

Sophomore defensive lineman Tashon Smallwood

Smallwood said the team has a strong plan to counter junior running back Wendell Smallwood, who rushed for 1,500 yards this season.

Redshirt senior quarterback Mike Bercovici

Bercovici talked about the impact of senior wide receiver Devin Lucien on ASU's passing game.

Redshirt senior defensive back Lloyd Carrington

Carrington compared WVU sophomore wide receiver Shelton Gibson, who had 33 receptions for 744 yards and eight touchdowns, to Washington State University's junior wide receiver Gabe Marks (104 receptions, 1,192 yards, 15 touchdowns).

Nick Kelly talked about how the offensive line can counter WVU's 3-3-5 defensive alignment from effecting ASU's spread offense.
