Over the past couple years, the ASU football program has had trouble reeling in recruits from Saguaro High School in Scottsdale. Friday, that luck changed.

The Sun Devils received commitments from a trio of three-star prospects in the class of 2017 in tight end Jared Poplawski, linebacker Kyle Soelle and offensive lineman Corey Stephens.

This stroke of good fortune from Scottsdale is rare for ASU, as alums Christian Kirk and Byron Murphy have spurned their hometown team in each of the past two recruiting classes.

ASU now has six players pledged for 2017, as the three join Basha quarterback Ryan Kelley, Temple (TX) safety Ashton Logan and Lake Ridge (TX) linebacker Loren Mondy.
