Fans sit outside of the Barrett dorms on the ASU Tempe campus after a water pipe broke and flooded several dorm rooms on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016.

A water pipe burst on the fifth floor of Juniper Hall in the Barrett, the Honors College Tempe community Tuesday night, forcing approximately 150 students out of the building, according to ASU.

Once the situation was under control, students were allowed back into the building, but only to grab their belongings. The 150 affected students were sent to hotels and other University housing for a temporary fix, where they are expected to stay for five days, ASU officials said in a statement.

The cause of the incident is still being investigated, and restoration crews are on the scene working to clean and repair the facility quickly so students can return to their rooms.
