This semester, After Hour has met student government leaders from the Downtown, Polytechnic and West campuses. Now, on the show’s final episode of the semester, it’s Tempe’s turn.

Allison Sorgeloos is Tempe’s new USG President and will serve for the 2018-19 academic year.

She says she's excited to for her new job, which she was elected to unopposed.

"We still ran our campaign just like any ticket would have in the past," she said.

Sorgeloos says her campaign went around to clubs, promoted their platform and encouraged students to vote and be civically engaged.

Sorgeloos says she fell in love with Tempe within the first ten minutes of visiting. She describes Tempe as being the most exciting place on the planet.

"We have such a wonderful balance between the college campus and the actual Tempe city life," she said.

Sorgeloos is majoring in education studies and will be a senior in fall 2018.
