With three clicks of the heels, “Wicked” is coming home to ASU Gammage.

Gammage is welcoming the famous broadway musical back to Tempe beginning April 3, 2019 and running through May 5, 2019.

Tickets go on sale Dec. 10, 2018 and can be bought on the ASU Gammage website.

“Wicked” is the tale of how Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, from “Wizard of Oz” came to be, leading right up to when Dorothy comes in. The show has been performed in over 100 cities and 15 countries since making its debut in 2003, according to a press release.

This week marks its 15 year anniversary, and the original cast members and additional guests celebrated with an NBC special: "A Very Wicked Halloween: Celebrating 15 Years on Broadway."

Kari Amarosso, public relations manager for ASU Gammage, said "Wicked" is Gammage’s most popular show.

“It's a story about friendship, love and politics,” Amarosso said. “It’s a surprising tale of an unlikely friendship between two women in the Land of Oz.”

Amarosso said she is a fan of "Wicked" herself and is looking forward to the production coming back to the stage in Tempe.

"There is so much for everyone in the music and in the storytelling that's so powerful and really moving," she said.
