Eddie Läck: I feel like the main attraction was that it’s a really up-and-coming program. I talk to Greg (Powers) a lot and the other coaches and equipment guys and everything around here and everyone is really excited about the program, that was the main reason (for me coming here). Having them explain it to me got me excited about it too.

For me now, when I’m not going to play this year, it was an opportunity for me to stay in the game. I’ve played this for such a long time, and I feel like it would be such a big step to just quit all of a sudden. So I just wanted to stay within the game and see where it takes me. I’m not sure if coaching is something I want to do eventually, but I wanted to try and see how it (goes) and I’ve had a pretty good experience so far.

For me, it’s all about taking it one day at a time. Most guys try to dream away and (think), “What if I do this? Maybe in a few years I’ll be there.” But once we’re here at the rink every day, to be able to go where your dreams want to take you, you have to be able to put the work in here first and that’s what I preach too.
