ASU senior setter Callie Jones (#25) sets the ball in their 3-1 victory over Colorado at Wells Fargo Arena on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019 in Tempe, Arizona.

No. 16 California and its high-powered offense clicked on all cylinders Friday and ASU volleyball (10-6) suffered its second straight sweep (20-25, 20-25, 19-25).

Senior outside hitter Jada Burse led the Sun Devils with 13 kills on a 59 percent clip. Outside hitters Andrea Mitrovic and Iman Isanovic also provided nine kills each for ASU.

Senior setter Callie Jones chipped in with 20 assists.

For the Golden Bears, Lauren Forte and Mima Mirkovic led the way with 14 and 12 kills respectively.

ASU was able to play tight with Cal until midway through the first set. After a 12-12 tie, Cal scored four unanswered points to give the team a lead it would not relinquish.

In the second set, the Sun Devils led the Golden Bears by a score of 18-16. Cal then went on an 8-0 run to eventually steal the set win.

ASU was unable to build any kind of momentum in the third set. Cal built a six point lead that held up until the final point.

Overall, the Sun Devils couldn't keep up with the Golden Bears' offensive attack, as Cal hit almost 36 percent for the game and posted seven service aces in the match.

Cal was also able to take the ball away from ASU often, ultimately siding out at a 70.5 percent rate.

Next up the Sun Devils will take on No. 2 Stanford on Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. MST.
