The No. 8 ASU women’s golf team placed fourth at the Windy City Collegiate Championship in Golf, Illinois Tuesday.

The Sun Devils recorded 45 birdies — third among all schools, and notched a final score of -5 (859) across three rounds in the two-day tournament.

ASU also finished first in stroke average on Par 3 holes and second on Par 5 holes, with scores of 2.97 (-2) and 4.8 (-12), respectively.

Freshman Linn Grant contributed a team-high 10 birdies and earned her second straight top-10 tournament finish. Her score of (213) -3 was the highest of any Sun Devil.

Sophomore Alessandra Fanali also had an impressive performance, finishing two under par and ranking in the top 10 on the player leaderboard.

The event was part of a very challenging fall schedule for the Sun Devils, who responded by turning in their second straight top-five finish of the year. The team also placed fourth at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate last month in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.

ASU's next tournament will begin on Oct. 11 when it heads to Stanford, California to compete in the Stanford Intercollegiate.
