ASU menโ€™s basketball claimed its fourth straight victory Thursday night, defeating Stanford 74-69 in a road contest at Maples Pavilion.

Junior guard Remy Martin finished with a team-high 24 points.

Junior guard Alonzo Verge Jr. provided 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists off the bench, and junior forward Kimani Lawrence notched 11 points for ASU.

The Sun Devils started off hot, with a quick 7-0 run and forced six turnovers before the Cardinal could even get into the scoring column.

Stanford responded with a 10-2 run of its own to gain the lead. Freshman forward Spencer Jones hit two 3-pointers as part of Stanford's early surge.

As both teams settled into the first half, it was ASU that proved superior, as the team went on an 11-0 run that began with just over seven minutes remaining in the half.

ASU also forced 12 Stanford turnovers and outrebounded the Cardinal 14-9. Martin led all scorers in the half with 13 points on five of six shooting as the Sun Devils entered halftime with a 36-29 lead.

The Sun Devils carried the momentum into the second half as Verge Jr. and redshirt junior forward Romello White combined to score 13 of the teamโ€™s first 14 points.

Stanford attempted to claw back, at one point shrinking the ASU lead to one possession with under one minute to go in the game.

However, the Sun Devils maintained consistent offense and took advantage of second-chance opportunities to maintain the lead.

When all was said and done, ASU had grabbed nine of its 30 rebounds on the offensive end. Three Sun Devils scored in double figures as the team notched its sixth victory in the last seven games.

ASU will look to extend its win streak when the team travels to Berkeley, California to face the Cal Golden Bears on Feb. 16 at 4:00 p.m. MST.
