ASU Borderlands Produce Rescue Fresh Produce

The fresh produce at the Changemaker Borderlands Produce Rescue in the baseball fields parking lot on ASU's Tempe campus on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020.

After volunteering with Borderlands Produce Rescue, Roger Thompson introduced the program to Changemaker Central at ASU's West campus to help eliminate food waste in the communities surrounding ASU.

Alyssa Orozco, a junior majoring in both english and global studies, came to Changemaker Central with her passion for helping people and an interest in sustainability. As the Produce Rescue's coordinator, she organizes events that help people buy fresh produce without excess waste.

After a year with the Produce Rescue, Orozco was happy to see her work come to fruition at the event.
