The Tempe Police Department made 249 arrests during an underage alcohol enforcement operation at Tempe Tavern on Thursday night, according to a statement from the department.
Arrests were made for possession of fraudulent identification, underage intoxication and individuals providing false information to officers. The operation lasted several hours, according to the statement from Tempe PD.
"Most of the individuals involved were cited and released at the scene," the statement said.
Tempe PD said detectives are actively investigating the incident, and more information regarding specific charges will be released at a later time.
Tempe Tavern did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

On April 28, Tempe PD apprehended 173 individuals at Tempe Tavern during a joint operation with the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control.
