The State Press leadership team has retracted four stories from its website because each was found to have been partially modified by generative AI.

The retracted stories are:

Insight Gallery: Post Malone and the soundtrack of a decade

Insight Gallery: How ASU football made history this season

Insight Gallery: From preseason underdogs to conference champions

Insight Gallery: The beauty of a David Kushner concert

The State Press has a zero-tolerance policy for using generative AI to create or modify any published content. The editorial guidelines state that if a staff member has an idea that may be perceived as plagiarism or fabrication (e.g. using AI), they must notify the executive board well in advance of publication and receive explicit permission beforehand. The consequence for any staff member using AI to compose any part of a story is immediate termination from their position at The State Press.

The State Press does not condone the use of generative AI in our content and apologizes to the ASU community. The author of these stories is no longer on staff.
