Massamba Diop and Noah Meeusen hit the transfer portal
By Pratham Valluri | April 8, 2026
Star freshman center Massamba Diop has entered the portal with a "Do Not Contact" tag, according to On3's Pete Nakos.
The tag prohibits college coaches and staff from recruiting him, shifting the power back to Diop.
Diop set an ASU freshman record for blocks in a season with 69, and finished the year averaging 13.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game on 56.9% shooting from the field.
The Senegal native was ASU's second-leading scorer behind senior guard Moe Odum and had three 20-point games this season. A potential first-round draft pick in next year's NBA Draft, Diop now has the option of reaching out to any school he likes.
Besides Diop, sophomore guard Noah Meeusen also hit the portal, according to LeagueRDY's Sam Kayser. Meeusen started in 11 of his 30 appearances this season and was a positive force on the defensive end, leading the Sun Devils alongside Odum with 1.4 steals per game while averaging 5.9 points and 2.6 assists per game.
Both moves come just weeks after the hiring of new head coach Randy Bennett.
