The State Press published its ninth update to its ASU salary database. The update includes the reported salaries and positions of more than 19,500 University employees in 2025. These employees include deans, professors, coaches, academic advisers, marketing strategists, leaders of ASU's enterprises and more.
Since 2017, we have published updates to the database to provide transparency about how much ASU employees earn. The data is a public record obtained each year from the University, but the database and any subsequent analysis and reporting are originally created by staff members at The State Press.
We use this data to help drive our coverage on possible pay gaps, salary increases, analyses on contract extensions and other topics. We aim to use this database to identify additional pay-related stories affecting members of the ASU community and to give community members the opportunity to investigate the data themselves.
We aim to cover stories that serve the wide and ever-changing ASU audience and bring to light high-impact topics.
