SP Weekly sits down TJ Guerrero, President of the newly formed ASU chapter of the PIKE fraternity, to discuss their plans on refining the perception of frat life. A stereotype is commonly held that frats are just a place for party goers to congregate. But PIKE has restarted this year (after leaving ASU a few years ago) and the fraternity intends to replace society's the old viewpoint with one that revolves around merit and excellence.
John Moraga wrested for ASU from 2002-2007 and pursued a professional career after that. At 29 years old, Moraga is expected to fight UFC's reigning Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson. Originally, the pair was set to compete in Las Vegas at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale but Johnson endured a shoulder injury. July could be the earliest these two face off.
Arizona State University students affiliated with the university's Black Artists and Designers club as well as the National Council of Negro Women joined forces to clean up graffiti around downtown Phoenix. Individuals from the organizations served as leaders for the clean up group. The clean up was a small part of a much larger day of community service which included over 30 different volunteer sites called Devils In Disguise, an event that has been put on since 2001. The service event spanned all four campuses. Students traveled by bus to a location along Baseline Road, painted over the graffiti they found and provided services for members of the community by offering to paint fences, trees, and anything else. Nearly 40 students participated in the Phoenix graffiti clean up and Devils In Disguise drew almost 1,000 volunteers who showed up and worked from 9 am until 1pm on March 23, according to event coordinator Allison Oaks.

Arizona State's Advanced Computing Center (A2C2) is the main powerhouse of the university's research capabilities. Scientists at ASU utilize this massive computer's power to research everything from genomes to supernovae. A2C2 is currently the third largest computing system in the State of Arizona, containing about 500 computers and 5,000 processors.
NCAA gymnastics uses the traditional 10-point scoring system. Olympic and collegiate scoring used to be the same until there were discrepancies at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. The main argument was that execution was being compromised for difficulty. Since then the two levels have been competing with slightly different rules. College athletes compete as a team and not just as individuals. If they meet the minimum requirements during their routine, scoring starts at 9.5. Five-tenths can be added to the score if they display originality, skills and connective value. There are also a number of little details that can deduct from the score if not perfectly executed. Scoring 196 points is a difficult feat to attain but one that the Sun Devils accomplished against Bridgeport for the first time since 2009.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death on college campuses. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is working to change that statistic and reduce the number of deaths, while working toward a suicide-free world. On March 23, AFSP and the ASU Well Devils hosted the second ASU Out of the Darkness walk to raise awareness and money for suicide research and education.

The Arizona State String Project is a program that gives ASU music students the opportunity to teach real classes as a means of gaining real world experience for future careers as music teachers. Classes are held every Saturday morning, where kids from all over the valley attend music classes where they will learn everything from correct posture to new songs. The program is led by Dr. Margaret Schmidt, an Associate Professor of String Music Education, alongside local teachers Linda Levy and Holly Schrade.
We live in an age where the limits of technology are almost nonexistent. The combination of the constant progression of electronic devices and the expanding creativity of human minds has presented our generation with an endless amount of opportunity to innovate and form new ideas. The people of the Laptop Orchestra of Arizona State (LOrkAS) fit into the "innovative" category, without a doubt. Although LOrkAS isn't the first of its kind, it was until recently, the first student-only laptop orchestra. Without any classes offered and a lack of funding, LOrkAS members have been forced to think outside the box and push the boundaries of "what can be done" while using the laptop as an ensemble instrument. Here, they go in depth and talk about their performance at the Emerge Festival, as well as the importance of experimental music and sonic art performance.
The men's basketball team is currently 20-10 with tournament hopes still in sight. Two of the leaders discuss the team's performance so far and their expectations for Saturday's game at the University of Arizona.
