The ASU men’s hockey team began in the late 70s when players were playing drop in hockey. The team originated as the Ice Devils and didn’t become the Sun Devil’s until the 1998-99 season. Since coach Greg Powers took over three years ago the Division I team has improved. This year the team went the furthest it has in history, ranked number 2 entering into the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division I Tournament.
The annual Phoenix Pride Parade was held on Saturday, April 6 and covered a 1-mile distance between Thomas and Indian School Roads in Phoenix. Participants and spectators were often seen dressed in bright colors and rainbow hues. At the end of the parade, a few churches showed their support for the LGBTA community while other church groups told the community that they were doomed for hell. The churches against the LGBTA community were separated by barricades while the two groups shouted at each other. Read about ASU's all-inclusive sorority celebrating Pride here. Plans for three street projects are geared toward bicyclists and pedestrians near the Tempe campus and seek to decrease street traffic by widening sidewalks and bicycle lanes.
Producer and former ASU journalism student Robert Felix teamed up with his church to create an hour-long film about homelessness in Maricopa County, which impacted about one out of every 200 residents in 2011.

Weekend nights are always a blur on Mill Avenue with crowds seeking the next bar or open restaurant. But movement comes to a halt near Urban Outfitters on Mill Avenue and 6th Street, where visual artist Bruce Cormier spray paints space landscapes for passers-by.
