East Jordan, Michigan indie band and art project Breathe Owl Breathe recently released its new album and wants to give the world a taste of “Magic Central.” Band members Micah Middaugh, Trevor Hobbs and Andréa Moreno-Beals have also been recording children’s songs and working with a printmaker on a one-of-a-kind fundraiser to benefit kids.

Breakout band Keeping Riley’s “Welcome Fire” might be one of the best indie albums of the year so far. For a group of eight guys, it’s a miracle that they can produce such breathtaking music and still keep the band together. This New Jersey octet plays in the style of jazz fusion, an enticing genre that many people are not familiar with but will grow to love after giving this album a listen.

California rockers Young the Giant are a band that shouldn’t be missed this summer. Considering they’re working on banging out another album, plus having just released a powerful single, the highly-accomplished band is very busy this season.
