4 things the Editorial Board learned this semester

With every passing year, ASU makes improvements that positively affects the student body. In 2015, we explored each of these issues and witnessed numerous commendable feats occur on campus. From a Special Victims Unit becoming part of ASU Police Department, to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) students receiving in-state tuition, ASU has continued to listen to our voices and adhere to our needs.



DREAMers attend first school year paying in-state tuition, struggle with lack of financial aid

A May ruling by the Arizona Board of Regents granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients the ability to pay in-state tuition. Despite this ruling, many DREAMers still continue to struggle financially due to the lack of federal aid available to undocumented students. 











Present, future students call on the Board of Regents to change tuition rates for deferred action students

While ASU students scurried to and from class on Tuesday afternoon, a group of 100 students and community members marched through the heart of the Tempe campus calling on the Arizona Board of Regents to give deferred action recipients in-state tuition rates.
