Down Apache Boulevard lies row after row of strip malls, each carrying many shops or restaurants of different cuisine for the students close to the east side of the Tempe campus to visit. Pizza, sandwich and Asian joints all line the street divided in two by the light rail, so there’s plenty of choices for the discerning foodie.

It’s been two years since M. Night Shyamalan’s last movie, the second of his romp through science fiction and action that, well, did not end well. Post hiatus, the “twist” guy has circled back to his horror and suspense roots with “The Visit,” a film about a naked grandmother clawing at walls, two kids making a documentary and the most suspenseful second half I’ve ever watched.

The original Transporter, Frank Martin, had the ability to think on the fly. This lead to some ridiculous scenes that had no business in reality - making them fun to watch. Yes Frank, you can cover yourself in a
motor oil spill so a group of crooks can’t get a good grip on you during a
fight. Yes, you can definitely flip an Audi upside down to knock off a bomb
attached to its undercarriage on a conveniently placed crane and still land the
car – because you’re Frank Martin.

Craft beer has positively detonated over the last few years.
Brews in nearly any flavor combination imaginable have populated not only store
shelves but pubs and bars across the nation, and have also caught the attention
of the ever popular macro breweries (Budweiser, Miller). According to a June
article by
Forbes, craft beer sales have grown 17.6 percent per year.

The popular BB Run on the Tempe campus was recently cancelled by organizers as they couldn’t gain the needed funds from the USG. The reason, according to president Cassidy Possehl, was, “Having this party paid for by the University and seeing those photos on the Internet cheapens the value of our degrees.

The 38th Annual Tempe Festival of the Arts landed on the re-christened Downtown Tempe, bringing vendors, a wide variety of food and, most importantly, a grand collection of art from national and local artists together onto Mill Avenue, mere steps from the Tempe campus.
