No. 6 ASU baseball defeated Stanford 14-6 behind Brett Lilek's seven innings of three-hit ball and Brian Serven's (5-for-5, 2 HR, 5 RBI) career day, giving the Sun Devils their first sweep of the year and improving them to 3-3 in Sunday games.

ASU swim and dive sent seven women to the NCAA Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina, but freshman diver Mara Aiacoboae was the only one to reach an event final, ultimately placing fourth in the final round of the platform dive.Aiacoboae competed in the platform, 3-meter and 1-meter dives at the NCAA Championships. She placed fourth in the preliminary round of the platform dive, her signature event, with a score of 316.20 over her first six dives. In the event final, Aiacoboae added held onto fourth place with another 313.50 on her next six dives. She placed 46th out of 49 total divers in the women's 3-meter with a score of 262.80 over her six dives. The 1-meter was much of the same for her as she placed 36th out of 45 with a total score of 268.40. Senior Hailey Casper also represented ASU on the diving board in her last meet as a Sun Devil.In her last NCAAs, Casper competed in her signature event, the 3-meter dive. She placed 33rd out of 49 divers with a score of 295.20. Unfortunately, this was Casper's last dive as a Sun Devil because the final round only consists of divers with the top 16 scores. However, she will now focus on diving for her country Canada in international competition.ASU's 200 medley relay team of sophomore Ingibjorg Jonsdottir, freshman Jorie Caneta, junior Marina Spadoni and senior Melanie Busch barely missed the 16-team cut for the event final. The relay team finished in 19th place with a time of 1:37.91, which was just slower than its NCAA-qualifying time of 1:37.53. Sophomore Kat Simonovic and Jonsdottir were the only two ASU women to compete in individual events. Jonsdottir competed in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke events while Simonovic competed in the 500 freestyle race. However, neither made the final round of their respective events. Sporting a qualifying time of 22.70 in the 50 freestyle, Jonsdottir clocked in at 23.07 for 54th place. In the 100 backstroke, she swam a 53.03, good enough for 28th place and barely missing her qualifying time of 52.96 at the Pac-12 Championships. In a game of surges, No. 7 ASU (14-6, 3-1 Pac-12) defeated No. 15 Oregon (14-7, 1-3 Pac-12) 7-6 in 10 innings after an RBI triple from junior outfielder Johnny Sewald scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th to give the Sun Devils a win in their first road game of the year.
It looked as if a failure to provide insurance runs would doom No. 7 ASU (13-6, 2-1 Pac-12) again, but senior Joey Bielek's RBI single to center field in the eighth inning led the Sun Devils to a 4-3 win over New Mexico (11-7, 5-4 Mountain West) on Wednesday night.
ASU swim and dive is sending seven women and four men to NCAA Championships, which will take place from March 19 to 21 for the women and March 26 to 28 for the men.

ASU diving senior Hailey Casper, junior Hunter Atha, and freshmen David Hoffer and Mara Aiacoboae qualified for NCAA Championship berths with solid performances in their respective events at the Zone E Diving Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Following a solid outing at the Pac-12 Championships, Casper continued her dominance by winning the women's 3-meter dive. She competed in the 1-meter dive as well.She placed fifth in the preliminary round with a total score of 322.20 on six dives. However, she stepped it up and her six dives in the final round earned her a cumulative score of 672.30 for both events, good enough for first place. Her cumulative score was also about 20 points higher than the second place diver, Arizona's Samantha Pickens.Casper also placed 14th in the 1-meter dive final with a total score of 541.25 over the preliminary and final rounds.Hoffer, who won back-to-back Pac-12 Diver of the Month awards in December and January, continued his success while competing in all three events at the Zone E Championships.In addition to placing 11th in the men's 1-meter dive final, Hoffer placed sixth in the final round of the 3-meter dive. In the preliminary round, he amassed a 378.00 over six dives, which earned him fifth place out of 26 divers. He followed it up with another solid performance in the event final, totaling a score of 731.45 with his sixth-place finish.Hoffer's performance in the 3-meter was also good enough for a berth in the event at the NCAA Championships.ASU diving's other standout freshman, Aiacoboae, also competed in all three events. Aiacoboae, a platform specialist, earned second place with her preliminary round score of 318.60. She kept second place in the event final with a final score of 649.10, which was about seven points less than the first place finisher and about 20 points more than the third place diver. Her performance not only qualified her for the platform dive at the NCAA Championships, but also for the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.She scored a 308.40 in the preliminary round of the 3-meter dive, which was good enough for eighth place out of 55 total divers. She notched a 10th-place finish in the event final.Aiacoboae added to her top-10 finishes as she finished ninth in the 1-meter dive with a cumulative score of 558.70.Atha earned a berth to the NCAA Championships with his performance in his best event, the platform dive.The junior transfer scored a 344.55 in the preliminary round, putting him in fifth place. In the event final, he placed sixth with a cumulative score of 658.75, which was good enough for sixth place.ASU's third freshman to advance to an event final during the three-day meet was Heikki Makikallio in the 3-meter. A week after the ASU women had a few record-setting results, the men's swimming team improved upon that performance with six of its own record-breaking performances and a fifth-place finish.
