ASU football redshirt sophomore quarterback Brady White is out for the season, head coach Todd Graham announced Monday.
It’s unfair to not administer at least a slight curve with respect to redshirt freshman Brady White making his first start, and later freshman Dillon Sterling-Cole making his first appearance in a college game to burn his potential redshirt as White joined redshirt sophomore Manny Wilkins and freshman Bryce Perkins (out for the season) on the list of injured Sun Devil quarterbacks.
An pregame marital proposal was a success, the ASU Athletics Hall of Fame inductees were honored at halftime, men’s basketball coach Bobby Hurley was in the house, four quarterbacks saw the field and the defenses combined to force seven turnovers.

ASU football is 8-2 in games after a loss in the last three seasons – an important thing to consider in light of last Saturday's 41-20 loss to USC at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Field goals needed by ASU senior kicker Zane Gonzalez to match the NCAA's all-time made field goals record. Gonzalez made both of his field goal attempts in the 41-20 loss to USC Saturday and set a Pac-12 record when the 86th of his career sailed through the uprights.
LOS ANGELES – It didn't come down to Manny Wilkins versus Sam Darnold, and it didn't even come down to Brady White versus Max Browne – but ASU football lost just its third game by a margin of 20+ points under head coach Todd Graham to USC Saturday night, falling 41-20.
Who: Arizona State at USC
With 79 NFL first-round draft picks and 493 overall selections, USC is by any reasonable estimation among the most successful college football programs in NCAA history.
While ASU head coach Todd Graham appeared pleased with the play of his Sun Devils (4-0, 1-0 Pac-12) against the Golden Bears (2-2, 0-1 Pac-12), his focus has turned toward the first road tilt of the season, when ASU heads to Los Angeles to face USC on Saturday, which kicks off at 5:45 p.m on FOX.
Editor's Note: The following letter was written from former Daily Trojan editor-in-chief and USC alumnus Euno Lee to then-State Press sports editor Stefan Modrich in the fall of 2015. We asked Lee to reflect on the end of the 2014 ASU-USC game from a USC perspective. The game-winning touchdown pass from then-quarterback Mike Bercovici to Jaelen Strong – the "Jael-Mary" – as time expired that allowed the Sun Devils to upset the then-No. 16 Trojans at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Below is is the letter in its entirety, which has been edited for clarity.
Junior running backs Kalen Ballage (six carries) and Demario Richard (19 carries) combined for just 88 yards on the ground Saturday, while redshirt sophomore quarterback Manny Wilkins ran for three touchdowns on 72 yards and was the leading Sun Devils rusher. Wilkins also threw for 390 passing yards and got sophomore tight end Jay Jay Wilson in on the scoring action with a 30-yard touchdown pass, the first of his career.
Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott addressed the media before ASU football's conference opener versus California on Saturday night, announcing a series of student-athlete initiatives.
The billing attributed to ASU football’s conference opener against Cal at Sun Devil Stadium had many of those who watched clamoring for a high-octane showdown, with defense relegated to a mere formality – and yet, the Sun Devils (4-0, 1-0 Pac-12) trailed the Golden Bears (2-2, 0-1 Pac-12) 24-10 in the first half.
As the Pac-12 portion of ASU football's schedule approaches, The State Press plans to connect with student publications around the conference to discuss ASU's opponents each week.
Amidst special teams turmoil and flashes of all-around excellence, ASU football senior kicker Zane Gonzalez has seen it all.
