Roads around the Tempe campus have been closed due to flooding and down signal lights. Students that are on their way to classes should plan for longer commutes due to the rain.
According to an email from the Tempe Police Department, as of 6:50 a.m. this morning Rural Road and South Shore Drive has restricted traffic because of flooding.
Broadway Road and Dorsey Lane are closed due to flooding. Hardy Drive and Southern Avenue are closed, Baseline Road and 48th Street are closed due to flooding, according to Tempe Police.
The signal lights are also out a Rural Road and Warner Road, according to Tempe Police.
The Tempe Police and Fire departments are also reporting flashing traffic signals at College Avenue and Baseline Road.
Dorsey Lane and Southern Avenue, McClintock Drive and Southern Avenue, are all experiencing heavy flooding, officials reported.
McClintock Drive is closed between Apache Drive and Broadway Road due to flooding, according to Tempe Police and Fire departments.
The intersection at Broadway and McClintock Drive is closed as well as University Drive and 48th Street for flooding, officials reported.
