Once again, ASU's offense failed to establish the formula it's become known for all season long.

Junior defender McKenzie Berryhill was a game time decision, but got the start after suffering a head injury in the final seconds of the previous game against No. 4 Stanford.

Colorado would get on the board in just four minutes after goal a by junior midfielder Olivia Pappalardo, who was assisted by sophomore forward Brie Hooks.

Even though the Sun Devils were down early, they did not seem to carry with them a sense of urgency, and played very composed throughout the half.

Junior forward Cali Farquharson would get hit around the 24 minute mark, but would choose to play through it for a couple of minutes.

She would be subsequently subbed out in the 33rd minute. It was questionable whether or not she would come back into the game, but head coach Kevin Boyd put those fears to rest at the beginning of the second half.

“She's good,” Boyd said. “She's starting the second half. It’s a forced rest. We don't like to bring out our most dangerous player.”

ASU would head to the locker room down 1-0 at halftime.

Hooks would get her chance to find the back of the net in the 74th minute, blasting a shot past senior goalkeeper Chandler Morris to put Colorado up 2-0 with 16 minutes left to play.

After this goal, the Sun Devils began to play with much more urgency, trying to claw their way back into the game, but failing to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Junior forward Sara Tosti would go down hard in the 78th minute. After being inspected by the teams medical staff, she would come off the field, with freshman midfielder Madison Kmetko replacing her.

The 2-0 defeat marked the third consecutive loss for the Sun Devils, which is also the third time in a row ASU has failed to score.

The Sun Devils were even in almost every statistic, including shots on goal, where both teams had five.

The Sun Devils travel to Salt Lake City to play Utah at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
