ASU in the polls: ASU women's basketball rises to No. 13 in AP poll with Pac-12 showdown vs. No. 11 Stanford tonight

With a monster Pac-12 showdown tonight against No. 11 Stanford, the ASU women's basketball team moved to 13th in the AP poll.

The Sun Devils were ranked as high as 11th last season, but the team ended up losing seven of its past 10 games, including one to Arizona, which was 4-18 and 0-11 in Pac-12 action at the time.

Baseball - DIBaseball.com preseason Top 25:

The ASU baseball team opens its season on Feb. 13 and will play a three-game series against No. 12 Oklahoma State. The Sun Devils face No. 8 TCU in the second week of the season for a three-game series.

Gymnastics - Gym Info:

The ASU gymnastics team is not ranked (season average of 194.3), though the Sun Devils defeated No. 23 Southern Utah in the season opener.

Up next, ASU competes against No. 17 California, No. 15 Denver and San Jose State (193.991).

The Sun Devils are ranked No. 10 on uneven bars and No. 14 on the floor, but not in the Top 25 on balance beam and vault.

Water Polo Collegiate water polo:

ASU begins its season Jan. 23, when it will compete in the UCSB Winter Invite. ASU is slated for six games in the invitational over three days, facing No. 11 CSU Northridge, Cal Baptist, No. 13 San Diego, Azusa Pacific, CSU Bakersfield and No. 14 UC Santa Barbara.

Men's basketball - AP poll:

For obvious reasons, ASU won't sniff the Top 25 this season. But the Sun Devils have pulled off major upsets before (beat No. 2 Arizona last season and the Wildcats again in 2011-12 when the Sun Devils were 9-20 at the time).

In bracketology, ESPN's Joe Lunardi gives the Pac-12 three bids; Arizona a No. 2 seed, Utah a No. 3 seed and Stanford a No. 8.

In RPI ASU is 144th (last in Pac-12). In Ken Pom ASU is 78th (seventh in Pac-12).
