What winning looks like: A graphic interpretation of ASU baseball’s success in close games

ASU has won 4 games via walk-off this season, and is 9-3 this season in one-run games. Find out why they’re affectionately known as the ‘Cardiac Devils.’

After ASU baseball’s comeback walk-off victory over Stanford Friday, media relations director Doug Tammaro aptly pointed out the team’s record in contests decided by a run:

We decided to break down ASU’s nine wins in one-run games.

Sometimes, nine innings aren’t enough.

On days that end in “Y,” you’ve got a pretty good shot at witnessing a one-run game at Phoenix Muni.

Of course, winning is much more fun when you get mobbed by all of your teammates in front of 4,000 fans.
