A woman was arrested Oct. 29 in the 800 block of 17th Place on suspicion of burglary and drug possession, according to a police report.

The woman was observed stealing six packages of cigarettes from behind the counter of Circle K, police reported. The woman drove away from the gas station with another female heading north on Hardy Drive, according to the report.

Police later located the other woman and asked where the woman who had stolen the cigarettes had gone, police reported. The second female told police that the woman was her cousin and had fled the scene with the cigarettes, leaving her behind, according to the report.

Police found the woman in her mother's house, where she was hiding under a bed with methamphetamine, according to the report.

The woman was transported to Tempe City Jail, where she was booked and held to see a judge, police reported.

A Chandler man was arrested Oct. 28 in the 1600 block of North Scottsdale Road on suspicion of narcotics and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.

The man was seen passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle in a hotel parking lot with a spoon full of heroine sitting on the dashboard, police reported.

A search revealed more heroine in a cigarette box than the man had in his hand, as well as a glass pipe containing methamphetamine and several hypodermic syringes, according to the report.

The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released pending on his drug charges, according to the report.
