ASU gymnastics head coach René Lyst was placed on indefinite administrative leave Friday.

ASU athletics released a statement, which read, "The university cannot make any other comment regarding this topic as it is a personnel/HR issue.

Assistant coach Ralph Rosso is expected to lead the team against Penn State on Friday night, according to The Arizona Republic. He could be at the helm for the remainder of the 2016 season as well.

Rosso was an assistant at Arkansas with Lyst while he earned his master’s degree. He was at Western Michigan for one year before coming to ASU in 2014.

ASU is 1-9 and 0-6 in the Pac-12 this season under Lyst, who is in her second year with the Gym Devils. In 2015, Lyst led ASU to a 2-9 season and placed eighth in the Pac-12 Championships.
